SnowMastodon Project
When the excavator pulled up that first massive bone, the whole game changed. What began as a simple reservoir enlargement and wetland mitigation project for the Town of Snowmass, Colorado, became a national sensation after the Denver Museum and National Geographic got their heads around the significance of the site. The Town switched gears and made arrangements with the Museum for future draining and more excavations to discover what other natural treasures lie buried in that glacial anomaly. We had to re-think and re-design the whole thing, from grading, elevations, and soils to plant species composition.
