Piney Valley Ranch
Piney Valley Ranch is one of the last, and largest, working ranches in Eagle County Colorado. Being within 30 minutes of two ski resorts (Vail & Beaver Creek) makes it absolutely unique. As general manager of the property for several years, Steve Dahmer (Principal) developed a system of integrated resource management, which sets overall land health and ecosystem function as the cornerstone from which all other resources are built. He also coordinated all U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and State Lands grazing permits attached to the ranch.

“It’s no secret – Piney Valley Ranch probably has the best wildlife habitat in all of Eagle County.”
– Bill Andree, District Wildlife Manager, Colorado Parks and Wildlife

Many grazing permits were attached to the ranch and encompassed the 250,000 leased acres surrounding the ranch.

There were several revenue-generating recreational enterprises along the way, including guided fly fishing, a nationally acclaimed sporting clays course, and an award-winning hunting operation (Ranching for Wildlife Program).

Included in the management program were economic enterprises and biological plans for cattle, sheep, hay, timber, range, fisheries and wildlife.
